The cableway ROV is a radio controlled vehicle that travels on the main cable of existing cableways to tow an ADCP package such as the RiverCat, Rio Grande, or Boggie Dopp across a river for a discharge measurement. The operator can move the ROV back and forth, varying the speed across the transect, as well as move the instrument package up and down to quickly get the ADCP out of the water to avoid being damaged by debris. The ROV is battery operated and will work on any standard cableway main cable from ¾” to 1 ½” diameter. The ROV is portable and can easily be moved from site to site.
